What can I learn from 1:1 consulting?
There are six things that will transform your confidence about your business: a mission, a business strategy, branding, a website with email marketing capacity, collateral, and social media. When these six are solidified, you will feel confident and prepared when a potential client or partner receives your business card or visits your digital home base. You’ll also get the results you want faster.
I don't need to be the one who does everything, but these do need to be done in order for me to do the next thing. For example, I will not build a website for a client without a brand or offer social media coaching to a client without a website.
Mission
Ask yourself what your intention is. What are you trying achieve? What product or service do you want to offer? What problem does this product or service solve? Who is your ideal customer? Being able to answer these questions will set your foundation.
Business Strategy
Once you know your mission, it’s time to take it and apply it to an overarching business strategy. This is where you set intentional goals in specific timeframes, with action steps to make them a reality so that every decision you make has a purpose to it.
Branding
Branding is about more than just the colors you like. It’s about the kind of message you send to the world. It's who you are. A cohesive brand allows people to easily decide if you’re what they’re looking for or not (and because of it, it’s more likely that you are).
Website & Email
Your website is your digital home base, created to bring your mission, strategy, and branding together. When it does, every part of your website has an explicit purpose that serves and engages your customer. Your website also should include a place to collect emails, so that you can meet your customers where they’re at every single day: their inboxes.
Collateral
Collateral is comprised of business cards, notecards, invoicing, etc. where your brand is carried through. Each piece should link back to your website, where customers can get the most comprehensive view of who you are and what you offer. Your customers should be in your world whether viewed in digital or print. Your collateral should support continuity.
Social Media
The final step is to utilize social media as an opportunity to bring in and connect with customers. The content you create and connections you build should always lead back to your website. The social media landscape is always shifting and therefore should not be treated as a landing place. Imagine these platforms as doors to welcome in guests.
If you go out of order with these 6 steps, you will eventually have to circle back, rinse and repeat. Invest now, save your energy, and get it right the first time.
How does 1:1 consulting work?
First, let me assure you that there’s no need to feel intimidated. I’ll meet you where you’re at. You don’t need to be tech savvy, great with numbers, or have an eye for design. If you do, great! But if not, that’s okay too. We’ll figure everything out together.
1:1 consulting starts by scheduling a 15 minute call. We will talk through your current situation and goals, and figure out what your next steps should be. Following the call, I will send a quote with my recommended packages for further consulting.
Typical 1:1 consulting clients meet with me by phone or Zoom for 30 minutes once per week to plan, strategize, troubleshoot, and refuel. 1:1 clients commit to a minimum of a three month period.
